Specialized care is responsible for specialized care in the county. The administration is organized into several county operations based on different medical specialties. Our hospital locations are Sundsvall, Sollefteå, and Örnsköldsvik.

The Adult Psychiatry County Clinic in Västernorrland has three service points: Sundsvall/Härnösand, Örnsköldsvik, and Kramfors/Sollefteå. Specialized psychiatry primarily works with prevention, diagnostics, care, and treatment of mental illness and severe mental disorders. All on-call activities on evenings and weekends, as well as all compulsory care, take place in Sundsvall and also cover Kramfors, Sollefteå, and Örnsköldsvik.

We are looking for a specialist physician in psychiatry for our outpatient psychiatric care in Örnsköldsvik, with service in our Acute Team. We offer you a positive and open working environment with competent colleagues.

The location is Örnsköldsvik, and service is during the day. The position is a permanent full-time appointment with a start date of 2026-09-01.

Responsibilities

In the Acute Team, you will work together in a team with a nurse and a caregiver who make the initial assessment/triage of the patient seeking acute care. In the role of a specialist physician in the Acute Team, you will perform acute psychiatric assessments/actions if there is an acute need for care.

Examples of responsibilities:

• Medical assessment of patients seeking acute care for deteriorating mental health or patients admitted to other clinics who need a psychiatric consultation.
• Home visits together with other professions in the team may occur.
• Team-based work together with other professions in the Acute Team.
• Cooperation with other healthcare areas and neighboring care providers.
• Support when needed to other staff and resident physicians serving within the healthcare area.
• Mentoring of training physicians is included in the responsibilities.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who

• Are a specialist physician in psychiatry.
• Have experience of clinical work in psychiatric outpatient/inpatient care.
• Have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you

• Have good knowledge of the English language or other languages and master them in both speech and writing.
• Have experience of clinical work in psychiatric emergency care.
